The purpose of this workshop is to educate and empower parents, guardians, etc. in their interactions with schools.  The participants will be given tools that are practical and able to be used by anyone concerned about our youth’s education, regardless of educational background.  Moreover, they will gain a sense of ownership in the school, and they will become proactive in the day to day functioning of the school.  In addition, the parents will do pair/share with each other in order to discuss what works and what doesn’t work, and the whole group will share what they came up with collectively in order to walk away with solutions that can be used immediately.  Finally, parents will be challenged and guided in the area of connecting the dots with the key players in the equation, the youth.  The participants will not only feel empowered when they leave, but they will have a true understanding of the village concept in order to bridge the gap in our youth’s educational path.      .
